To understand the societal challenges associated with immunocastration (IC) and to develop policy recommendations, SuSI will assess the extent to which surgical castration (SC) is a social issue across the EU (desk research, stakeholder interviews). Based on the results, and considering systemic differences across national pork production systems, a multiple-case study and scenario analysis will be conducted to understand how national stakeholder debates have led and are likely to lead to different solutions for SC.
